Crowns & Bridges: Restoring Your Smile
At our dental office, we’re committed to helping you maintain a healthy, confident smile. Crowns and bridges are two common and effective solutions for restoring damaged or missing teeth.
What is a Dental Crown?
A crown is a custom-made cap that covers a damaged or weakened tooth to restore its shape, strength, and appearance. Crowns are often recommended for:
• Protecting a tooth after a root canal
• Covering a cracked or broken tooth
• Restoring a tooth with a large filling
• Improving the appearance of a discolored or misshapen tooth
Crowns can be made from porcelain, ceramic, metal, or a combination of materials for durability and a natural look.
What is a Dental Bridge?
A bridge is used to replace one or more missing teeth. It consists of one or more artificial teeth (pontics) held in place by crowns attached to the adjacent natural teeth. Bridges help:
• Restore your smile
• Improve chewing and speaking
• Prevent other teeth from shifting out of place
• Maintain your facial structure
The Procedure
Getting a crown or bridge usually involves two visits:
First Visit – We prepare the tooth/teeth, take impressions, and place a temporary crown or bridge.
Second Visit – The custom-made crown or bridge is fitted, adjusted, and permanently cemented.
Caring for Your Crown or Bridge
With proper care, crowns and bridges can last many years. Practice good oral hygiene, avoid chewing hard objects, and visit us regularly for check-ups.

DENTAL FILILNGS
Dental fillings are one of the most common and effective ways to treat cavities and restore damaged teeth. At our office, we offer tooth-colored composite fillings that blend in naturally with your smile.
What is a filling?
A filling is a material used to fill a hole or cavity in a tooth caused by decay or minor damage. It helps restore the tooth's shape, strength, and function while preventing further decay.
When do I need a filling?
You may need a filling if you have:
Tooth decay (cavities)
Cracked or broken teeth
Worn-down teeth from grinding or habits like nail-biting
What to expect:
Getting a filling is a quick, routine procedure. After numbing the area, the dentist will remove the decayed portion of your tooth, clean it, and fill it with a durable material. The process usually takes under an hour.
Types of fillings:
We primarily use composite (tooth-colored) fillings that are durable and aesthetically pleasing. Other types, such as amalgam (silver), gold, or ceramic, may also be discussed depending on your needs.
Caring for your filling:
Fillings can last many years with proper care. Good oral hygiene, regular checkups, and avoiding hard or sticky foods can help keep your filling—and your smile—in top shape.

DIGITAL X RAYS
Digital radiography combines the power of computer technology with electronic sensors and very small bursts of radiation. Instead of printing out on film, the image forms almost as soon as the sensor is placed in the mouth and projected to a computer screen.
When do you need a dental x ray?
Oral x-rays are used to check out the health of your mouth, gums, and teeth. X-rays are pictures of the inside of your mouth, which your dentist can use to diagnose problems.
For example:
• Cavities,
• Tooth decay,
• Impacted teeth.
